New Year Blog Gems: KiddyCharts

New Year Blog Gems

Helen Neale blogs over at and Her KiddyCharts blog offers parenting advice to parents of little ones, as well as personalised charts. Her Stickers, Stars and Smiles blog is a much more personal journey; giving an insight into a mum-of-two’s chaotic life. Mind the pants on the floor, and the mess in the sink.

It is a pleasure to be on Mummy Central today choosing my favourite posts of 2013.  I didn’t realise how tough it was going to be until I actually started. I have chosen a selection from both blogs. There were just some I didn’t want to leave off:

The one with the photo

I wrote this post after a trip in to London with a friend. It was a journey I have made many times before; but with very different results 15 years on. I love the photo in this post; simply stunning, and I just don’t do photos usually… *made me proud*

Changing with the moon

The one with the woggle

I haven’t really had a great track record with exercise. We don’t get on. Mainly because of the mess that childbirth made of my downstairs *too much information* Though this is a light-hearted post, it is also a triumph. It discusses my return to exercise, and swimming. I am still going regularly.

Dating a woggle

The one with the green bits

My kids are a source of inspiration for my writing, and nothing shows this more than this post about my son and his amazing insight into my beauty habits…

What are those green bits around your eyes, mummy?

The one with the poem

I am not a literary pro by any means, so when I managed to write a poem about potty training; well I was just a *wee* bit proud ;-)

When to start potty training: Give them time

The one with my boobs

My poor Stuntboy; his -“isms” definitely litter my blogs, and this is another of my favourite posts fron the year. Why is that? Quite simply because I still haven’t stopped laughing about it….

Mummy, there are ducks in your boobs

So there, we have it; my five blog gems.

I hope that you like them as much as I do :-)
