My favourite era. Perhaps because it’s the decade I am most aware of, when I was growing up.
I was 7 in 1980, so almost all of my childhood memories are in the era that taste forgot.
My major crush was on George Michael (that was a wise choice, wasn’t it?!!)
My mum cut my hair and I spent most of my formative years with the same pudding-bowl-shaped bob.
She bought material to make me pinafores in a variety of colours, and this was my wardrobe for my primary school years.
We holidayed in a static caravan, where we took our Yorkshire Terriers Mitzi and Candy.
And apparently when we enjoyed hot weather, I lounged around wearing little more than a few handkerchiefs to cover my 10-year-old modesty.
Ah the innocence of youth.

I identify with all of this! Aaaagh. We didn’t know about gay though then, did we? Let alone George!
I had no gaydar back then. In fact, a few months before George was caught exposing himself in toilets, I nearly fell out with a friend who kept telling me he was homosexual. Still think he’s sexy though!
