We’re pushing for #blogitforbabies

The most loving, tear jerking, heart bursting birth stories have been shared with us this week as part of our Parentonomy linky.

Thanks to all of you who have linked up your experiences so far.

Every one is unique.

And an interesting contrast to the birthing experiences of women in Bangladesh as told in Dorky Mum’s excellent piece on Save the Children’s Build it for Babies campaign.

Did you know that 50% of babies born in Bangladesh do not survive the first 28 days of their lives?

Or that 1 in 19 babies fail to see their 5th birthday?

The thing is, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Save the Children already have the knowledge and the experience that will help women and children receive better – life-saving – care.

The Build it for Babies campaign is a £1 million appeal that will allow Save the Children to build seven life-saving clinics in the poorest parts of Bangladesh. You can find out more about the appeal on their website

There are so many ways to get involved, and every single penny counts.

Today there will be a Blog it for Babies event at the Lancaster House Hotel between 2 and 7pm.

Treat yourself to an afternoon of chat, cakes, cookery demos, pampering activities, make up and make over tips and raise vital case for Save the Children. (Come on, it is Friday!) More details and directions are available here.

Donate £5 by texting BRICK to 70008 or £1 by texting XVRL71 £1 to 70070.

There are also lots of ways to get involved even if you’re not able to make a financial donation.

You can keep up to date with the Build It for Babies Campaign by following Save the Children on Facebook and Twitter.
